A Painting
By Wang wei
The moutains are green in the distance,
Tne stream up close flows silent.
Spring is gone,its flowers remain.
He is here but the birds do not mind him.
Translated by Xu Yuanchong
A Painting is a poem written by the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei. The poem describes the natural scene, but what is admired is a painting. The first two sentences write that the mountains are distinct, and the flowing water is silent; The last two sentences describe the four seasons of its flowers, and the birds are not afraid of people.
