History
With the profound foundation and far-reaching development, the history of Changchun Institute of Technology (CIT) can be traced back to the earliest years of the founding of the people’s Republic of China. From 1951 to 1953, Changchun Civil Construction Higher Vocational School, Changchun Surveying Geological Technology School and Changchun Hydropower Engineering School were built. For nearly 50 years these three schoolshave been associated with the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation, the Metallurgical Industrial Ministry, and the Water Conservancy Ministry. In the 1960s,Changchun Hydropower Engineering School was upgraded and renamed Jilin Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower to implement the undergraduate education. In 1997, the three schools were designated as the National Demonstrational Key Construction College for General Higher Engineering. In March 2000, the three schools merged to form Changchun Institute of Technology.
