The School of Energy and Power Engineering currently has 4 undergraduate majors: Energy and Power Engineering (thermal power and hydropower), Construction Environment and Energy Application Engineering, New Energy Science and Engineering, and Construction Electrical and Intelligence. Among them, the Energy and Power Engineering is a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, a characteristic major of Jilin Province, a brand major and a first-class high-level major; Construction Environment and Energy Application Engineering is a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, which has passed the professional accreditation (evaluation) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban and Rural Development in China.


In 2012, the School began to cultivate postgraduates in the fields of Architecture and Civil Engineering (heating, gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning engineering and building electrical intelligence) and Hydraulic Engineering (hydraulic machinery and Automation). In 2015, the Sino-Russian Undergraduate Education Program in Energy and Power Engineering was jointly operated by CIT and Russian University.


The School currently has Construction Energy Supply and Indoor Environmental Control Engineering Research Center in Jilin Province, Physical Simulation and Safety Technology Innovation Center for Water Conservancy and Electric Power Engineering in Jilin Province, China Refrigeration Maintenance Operation Regional Training Center in the Ministry of Ecological Environment in China, and has established 23 laboratories, covering an area of 4000 square meters, with instruments and equipment worth 60 million RMB.


The School currently has 62 faculty members, including 13 Professors (Second Grade Professors), 20 Associate Professors, 20 master tutors, and 15 teachers with doctoral degrees (2 overseas doctors).


The School won 8 Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, Natural Science Awards, and 2 Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. 8 provincial quality courses and excellent courses have been completed. The employment rate of graduates has maintained above 90%, most of whom are employed in central enterprises.
