CIT's Electrical Engineering and Automation and Electronic Information Engineering Programs Undergo On-Site Review for German ASIIN Accreditation

2026/06/27

From June 25 to 26, 2026, at the commission of the German Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN), a five-member accreditation review panel conducted an on-site review of CIT's Electrical Engineering and Automation and Electronic Information Engineering programs. The panel was led by Professor Ralf Müller of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, and included Project Coordinator Song Yangzemiao, Professor Moustafa Nawito of IU International University of Applied Sciences, Germany, Dr. Song Yuming, founder of Luance Management Consulting, and Yu Yuning, a doctoral candidate of Tongji University.

The opening meeting with the panel was held in Conference Room 2 on the morning of June 25 . Attendees included Zhang Bangcheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC CIT Committee and Vice President; the leadership of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering; faculty members of the two programs; and heads of relevant functional departments. On behalf of CIT, Vice President Zhang Bangcheng extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the panel for conducting the accreditation review and briefly introduced CIT. He emphasized that this international program accreditation is of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of disciplines and programs, further improving talent cultivation quality, and broadening students' international horizons. The Dean of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering then presented an overview of the development of the two programs.

At the meeting, the panel, in conjunction with the self-assessment report, exchanged views with heads of relevant functional departments on key areas such as faculty, teaching resources, quality management, and international cooperation and exchange.

During the on-site review, the panel strictly followed accreditation standards and procedures and comprehensively assessed program development and talent cultivation quality through document review, site visits, and discussions. The review covered core areas including program objectives, curriculum, practical teaching, faculty qualifications, university-industry cooperation, and quality assurance. The panel visited teaching resources such as the library and specialized laboratories, and held multiple discussion sessions with program leaders, alumni and industry representatives, student representatives, and faculty representatives to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of the two programs’ objectives and curricula, teaching organization, university-industry cooperation, and students' course learning.

The on-site review feedback meeting was held on the afternoon of June 26 in Conference Room 2. Professor Ralf Müller presented the panel's feedback. He affirmed the two programs' performance in areas such as teaching operations, laboratory development, industry-education integration, faculty commitment, student employment, and program development outcomes, while also offering observations and suggestions for their future development.

On behalf of CIT, Vice President Zhang Bangcheng expressed sincere gratitude to the panel for its meticulous guidance, rigorous professionalism, and highly responsible attitude. He stressed that ASIIN accreditation is not merely a comprehensive review of program quality but also a valuable opportunity for CIT to deepen its educational and teaching reform and strengthen its international competitiveness. CIT will carefully examine the panel's feedback and develop practical and feasible improvement plans. He called on the relevant departments and schools to give the matter full attention, implement the feedback item by item under closed-loop management, and treat this accreditation as a new starting point for high-quality program development. They should continue to refine top-level program design, identify and distill replicable and transferable models of program development, and encourage all programs across CIT to improve against benchmarks—thereby steadily enhancing the substance of program development and the international competitiveness of graduates.

Heads of relevant functional departments, the school leadership, program leaders, and representatives of key faculty members attended the feedback meeting.
