From June 30 to July 1, 2026, commissioned by the German Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN), a five-member expert panel conducted an on-site review of CIT's Energy and Power Engineering and New Energy Science and Engineering programs. The panel was led by Professor Reiner Schütt of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and included Dr. Jiang Xin, Project Manager; Professor Michael Röther of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany; Li Weining, Senior Expert from Shanghai Sinoboz Mechatronics Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.; and Liu Jiaqi, an undergraduate student from Shanghai University of Engineering Science.

CIT attaches great importance to this international program accreditation, emphasizing that it represents not only a comprehensive assessment of program quality but also a significant opportunity to advance the development of national first-class programs, deepen teaching reform, and enhance the international competitiveness of its graduates. The Associate Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering presented an overview of the two programs to the expert panel, and heads of relevant administrative departments participated in accreditation-related activities.

During the review, the expert panel strictly followed ASIIN accreditation standards and procedures, conducting a comprehensive assessment of the talent cultivation quality of the two programs across core dimensions including program objectives, curriculum design, practical teaching, faculty qualifications, university-industry cooperation, and quality assurance. The panel examined teaching resources including the library and specialized laboratories, and held multiple discussion sessions with program directors, alumni and industry representatives, student representatives, and faculty representatives to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of cultivation plans, the operation of teaching organization, the effectiveness of university-industry collaborative education, and students’ course learning outcomes.
In the feedback session, Professor Reiner Schütt, on behalf of the panel, gave a positive assessment of the two programs. He noted that the Energy and Power Engineering and New Energy Science and Engineering programs enjoy a long history and deep traditional strengths in the electric power field, that the faculty demonstrates a strong international outlook, and that students displayed solid professional foundations and a positive spirit during the discussions. The panel fully affirmed the programs’ achievements in laboratory development, university-industry cooperation, curriculum design, and SWOT analysis, and offered constructive suggestions for future development.
CIT expressed sincere gratitude to the panel for its rigorous professionalism and dedicated guidance, stating that it will carefully review the panel’s feedback, formulate practicable improvement plans, and ensure implementation through closed-loop management. Taking this accreditation as a new starting point, CIT will continue to optimize program-level strategic design, distill replicable and promotable models of program development, and drive all programs across CIT to benchmark against higher standards.
These efforts will steadily elevate the connotation of program development and enhance graduates’ international competitiveness.
