Recently, the 12th National Marine Aircraft Design and Manufacturing Competition, guided by the China Association for Science and Technology, jointly organized by the China Institute of Naval Architecture, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, International Organization for Innovation and Cooperation in Ship and Ocean Engineering, Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and Heilongjiang Provincial Association for Science and Technology, supported by China Association for Higher Education, and hosted by Harbin Engineering University, came to an end. Guided by Zhang Xiao, a teacher from CIT School of Energy and Power Engineering, CIT team of Jinjing, student of New Energy Science and Engineering, Grade 2021, with their team’s work "Low-flow Yong Jin - Dual impeller rotating tidal power Unit based on the characteristics of low-velocity sea area" won the second prize of the National Competition Category A (New concept Creative design).
The National Ocean Vehicle Design and Production Competition is the highest level, largest scale and broadest coverage competition in the field of shipbuilding and ocean engineering in China, representing the highest level of college students' innovation competition in the field of shipbuilding and ocean engineering in China. This competition attracted more than 300 universities and research institutes and more than 2,000 teams to participate in the competition, covering more than 10,000 students. The competition focuses on seven categories: innovation and creativity, design and production, smart ship and ocean engineering technology, famous ship model simulation, ship model racing, sailing model racing, and ocean knowledge competition.
