The "Key Technology of soda-saline-alkali soil Solidification for Water Conservancy Projects" jointly completed by Professor Gao Jinhua of CIT School of Water Conservancy and Environmental Engineering and the Water Conservancy Construction Management Station of Songliao Water Conservancy Commission has been included in the 2023 Ministry of Water Resources' Key Promotion and Guidance Catalogue for Advanced and Practical Water Conservancy Technologies, which is the first time that CIT has been included in the key promotion and guidance catalogue of water conservancy industry, marking a new milestone in the transformation of water conservancy scientific and technological achievements and the application of technology promotion.


According to the data of the second national soil census, the area of soda saline-alkali soil in Jilin Province is 2.13 million hectares, accounting for about 11.16% of the province's land area, and the area of severely saline-alkali soil is expanding at an annual rate of 1.4%. Due to the poor engineering properties of soda-saline-alkali soil such as solution subsidence, corrosion and salt swelling, the agricultural production and economic development of western Jilin Province are severely restricted. The key technology of soda saline soil solidification for water conservancy projects is based on the concept of green ecology. Through the invention patent technology of self-developed solidification agent, the saline-alkali soil is solidified into a building material, which is applied in the channel, river lining and farmland soil erosion control projects, realizing the goal of using local materials and turning waste into treasure, without using river sand and rocks, protecting the ecological environment, saving 20% compared with conventional materials and achieves the purpose of reducing  project cost. The implementation of this technology has enriched and expanded the technical reserves for the development and utilization of saline-alkali land in our province, and has helped increase agricultural grain production and promote the high-quality development of water conservancy infrastructure construction in the west of our province. At the same time, CIT further strengthened the exchanges and cooperation with the leading industry committee of Songliao, and will work hand in hand to seek common development, contributing more to promoting the development of water conservancy in Jilin Province and the high-quality development of national water conservancy projects.
