On May 20th, the 2023 Hydraulic Engineering Education Certification Academic Seminar was held in CIT. It was sponsored by China Hydraulic Engineering Society, China Engineering Education Certification Association and the Hydraulic Engineering Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education of Ministry of Education. It was undertaken by CIT and co-organized by Jilin Hydraulic Engineering Association. More than 190 authoritative experts and famous scholars engaged in hydraulic engineering education and research from 63 universities and related units participated in the seminar. Gao Erkun, deputy director of the water conservancy professional Certification Committee, chaired the opening ceremony.
Zhao Ziqiang, Director of the Certification and Special Evaluation Division of the Education Quality Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, Sun Xueyong, Deputy Director of the Talent Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, Wu Jian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Water Resources, and Wang Chaoyong, Vice President of CIT attended the meeting and delivered speeches respectively.
The conference is divided into three parts:keynote report, invited report and exchange report.Xu Hui , the chairman of the water conservancy professional certification Committee, the former president of Hohai University, made the keynote report of the conference "Fifteen years of water conservancy professional certification, experience and suggestions". The report introduces in detail the establishment and development process of water conservancy professional certification system, points out that the key to the construction of certification system is to formulate professional certification standards and the construction of expert teams, and plan the next direction of work from the aspects of professional certification task planning, certification experience summary feedback and improvement of rules and regulations.
Zhou Limin, Deputy Dean of School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing, Southern University of Science and Technology; Tang Bojin, Deputy Dean of Research Institute of Science and Technology, China Three Gorges Corporation Limited; Zhang Mingtian, project director of Training and Talent Service Center of China Association for Science and Technology, Secretariat of China Association of Engineers, and Chen Yuanfang, deputy director of Water Conservancy Professional Certification Committee, respectively made invited presentations from the perspectives of exploration and practice of new engineering education, water conservancy personnel training, international mutual recognition of engineer qualifications and how to do a good job in the last kilometer of professional certification.
The conference also invited teachers from Changchun Institute of Technology, Three Gorges University, Jilin University, Tongji University, Harbin Engineering University, East China University of Science and Technology, Tianjin Agricultural College, Shandong University of Science and Technology and other colleges and universities to make exchange reports. The participants carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions on major construction, classroom teaching reform, school-enterprise cooperation, personnel training and so on.
After the exchange report, the conference organized a seminar salon. Participating teachers combined with the actual situation of each school put forward relevant questions, certification committee members gave detailed answers to these specific questions, to help participants to further improve the understanding of the connotation of certification standards.
