On May 8th, Bao Qingchun, deputy director of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department of Jilin Province and his delegation visited CIT to carry out research and exchange on bilateral cooperation issues ,in order to enhance the effectiveness of universities in serving local economic and social development,further deepen school-local cooperation mode. CIT President Chen Quan and Vice President Wang Chaoyong attended the research forum.
President Chen Quan ,on behalf of CIT,extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. He pointed out that CIT, as the only college with major of agricultural water conservancy engineering in Jilin province, has continuously provided excellent talents and high-level innovative technologies for the development of the national and local agricultural water conservancy industry over the years. In the future, CIT will focus on the key areas of the development and technological innovation of agricultural and rural undertakings in our province, carry out in-depth cooperation with the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, to help the construction of a domestic first-class applied university and the high-quality innovative development of agricultural and rural undertakings in our province.
Bao Qingchun, deputy director of the Department, introduced the development of agriculture and rural undertakings in our province. He pointed out that the academic advantages and educational resources of CIT can effectively fill the talent gap in fields such as farmland construction and agricultural engineering in our province. The two sides will carry out in-depth practical cooperation in areas focusing on the protection of black land in Jilin Province, the “100 billion Jin” grain project, the cultivation of high-level practical talents in rural areas, the innovation of agricultural science and technology, and the popularization and application of farmland water conservancy,and so on.
At the meeting, Vice Director Bao Qingchun and Vice President Wang Chaoyong signed the strategic cooperation agreements on behalf of both sides.
According to the agreements, the two sides will jointly build research and innovation platforms including the “Agricultural Water Resources and Food Security” research centre and water-saving irrigation demonstration base, and around the actual needs of rural revitalization and development, farmland water conservancy construction in our province, we will carry out substantive cooperation in think tank services, scientific and technological innovation, talent training, and popularization of science.
After the meeting, the delegates went to the intelligent irrigation laboratory and the history museum of CIT for a field trip.
