On April 4th, Chen Quan, President of CIT, led a team of 4 people to Baidu's Apollo autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone in Beijing for investigation and research. They had in-depth exchanges on building Intelligent Automobile Industry Academy, carrying out deep cooperation and achieving school-enterprise win-win development.
In the research forum, President Chen Quan introduced the overall development of CIT, school-running achievements, the mode of the integration of industry and education, and the ideas of strengthening the joint construction of Intelligent Automobile Industry Academy. He said that the purpose of this investigation is to conduct in-depth discussions and exchanges around the major construction of new engineering, teacher training, curriculum development, training room construction, scientific research cooperation, students’ practice and other dimensions.
Zhang Chi, General Manager of Talent Ecology of Baidu IDG, on behalf of the company, warmly welcomed the visit of President Chen Quan and his delegation, and introduced in detail the four business groups of Baidu, the development history and main business of Baidu intelligent network business, and the main mode of cooperation between Baidu and universities to promote the implementation of new engineering, etc. Zhao Guoqiang, senior architect of education industry of Baidu IDG, introduced the industry background of building Intelligent Automobile Industry Academy, reviewed the history of school-enterprise cooperation, and reported the next work plan.
At the meeting, the two sides also had an in-depth discussion on co-construction of curriculum, dual teacher construction and co-construction of teaching practice base.
During the visit, President Chen Quan and his delegation visited Baidu Apollo Park and learned about the development process of Baidu's Apollo autonomous driving technology, Baidu's intelligent tank, intelligent driving, intelligent picture, intelligent cloud, 5G cloud generation driving, cloud control center and other related technologies, as well as the practical solutions of autonomous driving and intelligent transportation industry chain. President Chen Quan and his team took a Robotaxi on the open road in Beijing's Yizhuang Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone to experience how L4 autonomous vehicles cope with complex traffic conditions.
