CIT holds Joint Management Committee Meeting 

for Sino-British Co-operative Education Programme

On the afternoon of March 23rd, CIT held the Joint Management Committee meeting of Sino-British Co-operative Education Projects. The meeting held an extensive and in-depth discussion on the work related to the two undergraduate education programs of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Design and Manufacturing and Automation specialities, as well as the joint training program for master’s degree students and the cooperation in the field of English major, which were co-organized by CIT and the University of the West of Scotland in the UK.


Prof. Chaoyong Wang, Vice President of CIT, Prof. Bangcheng Zhang, Vice President of CIT, Ms. Jun Chen, Regional Director-East and Southeast Asia, International Center, UWS, and Prof. David Ndzi, Head of Computing, UWS, attended. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Yuxi, Director of CIT International Cooperation and Exchange.


At the meeting, Vice President Wang Chaoyong, on behalf of CIT, extended a warm welcome to the delegation of the University of the West of Scotland, and expressed that CIT will continually promote the development of cooperation projects.


Zhang Bangcheng, Vice President of CIT, said that CIT will intensify efforts to improve the teaching quality of the program and hopes that the two schools will work together to cultivate more outstanding students.


Subsequently, representatives from both sides had extensive exchanges on the renewal of the project cooperation agreements, short-term exchange programs such as degree programs and summer camps in the UK, Chinese teachers' further study in the UK, and the resumption of offline teaching by British teachers, to carry out the "1+1+1" master joint training project, teaching and research cooperation in the field of English speciality, etc..


At the meeting, Zhao Yuxi, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division, made a comprehensive summing-up on the cooperation process and main achievements of the two universities.


CIT and the University of the West of Scotland formally established an inter-university cooperative relationship in 2008. The two undergraduate education programs jointly organized by the two parties were officially approved by the Ministry of Education in 2011, and successfully passed the evaluation of Sino-Foreign cooperation in running schools by the Ministry of Education in 2016 and 2021. The two universities will continue to carry forward their respective advantages, learn from each other and make progress together, and strive to make the cooperation and exchange between the two universities a model of Sino-UK higher education cooperations.
