Recently, School of Applied Technology and the School of Energy and Power Engineering of CIT jointly conducted a four-day technical and skills training on the maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment for firefighters from the Jilin Forest Fire Brigade. 60 cadres and cadre firefighters participated in this training. Specific training on the basic principles of air conditioning and heat pumps, the basic operation of copper pipe welding and cold connection, good operation of refrigerant charging and recovery, and knowledge of fire safety of new refrigerants trained
The training was conducted at the Jilin Regional Training Centre of the Chinese Refrigeration Service Industry set up by CIT. It’s an important initiative of the Jilin Forest Fire Brigade to thoroughly implement the concept of "science and technology is the first productive force and talent is the first resource" put forward by the 20th Party Congress and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s flag awarding speech, to meet the requirements of the second phase of the hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFCs) phase-out and capacity building project in the refrigeration servicing sector in China approved by the Executive Committee of the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol on the Protection of the Ozone Layer (MLF) at its 76th meeting. The training further improved the training system of the personnel team which is compatible with the disposal of the full range of disasters and large emergency tasks, and enabled the participants to master more scientific and efficient rescue techniques and means, contributing to the development of emergency management.
