Intercollegiate Collaboration Between CIT and Krirk University Established

On November 21, Changchun Institute of Technology (CIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Krirk University (KRU), Thailand, reaching an agreement on international cooperation and exchange. The signing ceremony was held simultaneously live on the video conference at CIT and KRU.

The signing ceremony was jointly attended by Prof. Quan Chen, President of CIT, Prof. Chaoyong Wang, Vice President of CIT, Prof. Bangcheng Zhang, Vice President of CIT, Prof. Krasae Chanawongse, President of KRU, and Ms. Mingming Du, Director of the Office of Visiting and Exchange of KRU. The signing ceremony was presided over by Prof. Yuxi Zhao, Division Chief of the Division of International Relations of CIT.

Address by President Quan Chen

At the signing ceremony, President Quan Chen pointed out that the signing ceremony between the two colleges is of special significance with the success APEC Meeting this year as well as President Xis visit to Thailand. China and Thailand are connected by mountains and rivers. Long-term friendship and the humanistic mutuality are shared by us. The establishment of China-Thailand comprehensive strategic partnership is the fruit of our joint efforts, and constructing a community for a shared future between China and Thailand is our common goal and vision. KRU is the first Thailand partner of CIT. With the joint efforts of CIT and KRU, both sides will give full play to their respective advantages, and jointly plan the road of development in the areas of talent introduction, academic conferences, education promotion projects and short-term exchange activities and other fields. At the same time, CIT will boost humanistic and cultural exchanges between China and Thailand, build a brand project of China-Thailand higher education cooperation and exchange, and work hand-in-hand for the China-ASEAN education exchange and cooperation.


Prof. Krasae Chanawongse, President of KRU, said in his speech that over the years, KRU has actively conducted exchanges with all walks of life in China, especially the substantive cooperation with many Chinese universities, which has been supported and recognized by the education authorities of China and Thailand. In response to Chinas the Belt and Road Initiative, KRU has continued to innovate in the field of education and established a number of international programs that are in tune with the current era. With the visit to Thailand by President Xi, the cooperation between China and Thailand will reach a new level. KRU will learn from the fruitful achievements of the APEC Meeting and run the school with a more open, inclusive and pragmatic working attitude. It is hoped that KRU and CIT can boost exchanges and jointly promote the substantive cooperation between the two colleges.


At the signing ceremony, Prof. Chaoyong Wang and Ms. Mingming Du introduced the two colleges’ school-running concept, talent cultivation, academic research, international cooperation and exchange, etc.

Success Signing between CIT and KRU

Founded in 1952 and located in Bangkok, Thailand, KRU is the first private college approved by the Thai government. It is a comprehensive institution of higher education based in Thailand and radiating China-ASEAN, providing Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees primarily oriented by scientific research, and characterized by cultivating application-oriented senior talents. In the 2023 QS list of Asian famous universities, KRU was ranked among the top 5 universities in Thailand, 149th in Asia, and among the first batch with the 33 985 universities in China. At the same time, it was awarded the honorary certificate of QS Five-Star Excellent University.
