The School of Energy and Power Engineering Held a Popular Science Seminar 

on “Nano Energy and Intelligent Sensing”

In order to strengthen the integrated construction of teaching, scientific research and talents in CIT, and promote the preparation of the Institute of Nano Energy and Intelligent Engineering, on January 9, the School of Energy and Power Engineering held the “Nano energy and intelligent sensing”popular science seminar.

Shang Fumin, dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, first briefly reviewed the process of cooperation between our college and Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Systems, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and introduced the preliminary work ideas and recent work plans of CIT to build the Institute of Nanoenergy and Intelligent Engineering.


Zhang Xiao, vice dean of research of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, made a science popularization report entitled "Friction nano power generation technology and application". The report first introduced Academician Wang Zhonglin's outstanding achievements and global influence, as well as a series of scientific research achievements in the field of nanoenergy and intelligent sensing. The report provides a systematic exposition on the basic principle, research status, and related research and development work of the frictional nanopower generation team. It pointed out that friction nanopower generation can convert low-frequency and low-amplitude mechanical energy in the environment into electrical energy, and its application fields cover many directions such as micro and nano energy collection, self-driven sensors, and ocean energy utilization, and has the characteristics of low cost, easy access, and distributed. At present, the team has carried out a series of research and development work on ultra-low velocity ocean tidal power generation systems and self supplied water level monitoring systems, and has achieved phased results. The relevant systems have gained preliminary application conditions.


At the end of the event, the leaders and teachers of the participating colleges exchanged and discussed the relevant details of nano energy and intelligent sensing, friction nano power generation technology and its potential applications in related fields.
