2024-2025 VEX Robotics Asia Open and International Signature Competition was held at Taihu International Expo Center in Wuxi on December 30, 2024. The competition attracted nearly 500 elite teams from 21 countries and regions, with over 2,000 participants vying for top honors. After three days' intense competition, the VEX U team of our institute won the Grand Championship, the best result in the history of CIT.
The CSTU (Changchun Southern Technological Union) team, jointly coached by Professor Yi Yanji from the School of Computer Technology and Engineering, and Professor Wang Guilong from the School of Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, is initiated by the leader of the team Yang Heran, a student from Class 2145 of Mechanism major, allied with Southern Medical University and Shenzhen Technology University.
The CSTU team competed against elite teams from various countries and regions, including China, Macao, the United States, Singapore, and the UAE. With their outstanding performances, the CSTU team successfully defeated numerous competitors, winning the University Division championship in the competition! Additionally, it has gained the qualification to participate in the 2025 VEX World Championship on behalf of China, ranking the third team in the country to achieve this honor, after Shanghai Jiaotong University and Xi'an Jiaotong University.
Members of CSTU team were invited to participate in National University Robotics Education Alliance VEX AI Exchange Meeting in Wuxi, co-hosted by Tongji University and University of California, Berkeley. The event provided a platform for the CSTU team to share their technical expertise and experiences in the field of AI.
