On July 3, Xu Jianrong, an outstanding alumnus of CIT and academician of the CAE Member, returned to his Alma mater and delivered an academic report entitled "Interpretation of CECS1234-2023, the Technical Standard for Vibration and Vibration Control in Construction Engineering" for teachers and students in the first lecture hall. CIT Party Secretary Chen Quan, former Vice president, Professor Dou Lijun, and nearly 200 representatives of teachers and students from various colleges jointly listened to the report. The report was presided over by Xu Liang, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering.
Academician Xu Jian, with his profound academic achievements and rich engineering practice experience, explained the core problems, influencing factors and solutions of vibration and vibration dual control in a simple and concise manner from multiple dimensions such as the background, purpose, necessity and broad application prospects of compiling the Technical Standard for Vibration and Vibration Dual Control in Construction Engineering. In combination with practice, Academician Xu Jian provided guidance on the precautions, construction methods and acceptance standards when using vibration and vibration dual control technology in construction through specific cases. He also prospected the engineering design method innovation of vibration dual control technology, the research and development and use of vibration absorption devices and the process of standardization .
After the meeting, the teachers and students had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Academician Xu Jian on structural earthquake resistance, subway vibration hazard prevention and other related issues. The student representatives also presented flowers to Academician Xu Jian and expressed their deep respect and gratitude to the outstanding alumnus.
This academic report not only deepened the emotional connection between the Alma mater and its alumni, but also provided a valuable opportunity for teachers and students to communicate and learn from top experts in the industry face to face.
Xu Jian, Academician of the CAE Member, professor-level senior engineer, doctoral supervisor, engineering vibration control and structural seismic expert, Chief scientist of China National Machinery Industry Corporation, National first-class registered structural engineer, National registered consulting Engineer, National Grade-I project Manager of construction industry. He graduated from our school with a major in Civil Engineer in 1980, and from Hunan University with a master's degree in Structural Engineering in 1988. He mainly engages in research on vibration control, structural seismic resistance and new masonry structures. He has won 4 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress, 6 National Enterprise Management Innovation Awards, 3 Gold and Silver Awards of National Excellent Engineering Construction Standard Design , 3 first prizes of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design, and 6 first prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress. Compiled 34 national standards (with 11 editors in chief), 2 national standard designs, published 36 works (20 as the first author), and obtained 31 authorized invention patents as the first inventor.
