On December 20th, the Workshop on Sino-Italian Governmental International Science and Technology Innovation Cooperative Projects of National Key R&D Plan 2021 was held at the wind power generation and internet research room of joint engineering research center of Changchun Institute of Technology (CIT). The workshop was chaired by Professor Wenzhou Liu, Party Secretary of the School of Applied Technology. Francesco Salvatore, Chief Researcher of the Italian Scientific Research Commission and Senior Researcher of the Italian National Academy of Marine Engineering, and Zhe Chen, Academician of the Danish Academy of Science and Technology and Professor of Aalborg University, were invited to attend the workshop online. The main members of the Chinese and Italian project teams also attended the workshop.

Francesco Salvatore is the Italian director in charge of the Sino-Italian international cooperation project. The title of his keynote speech was China/ltaly collaboration under the CNR/ MOST programme mid-term progress report by CNR-INM. He analyzed the international research background, European marine energy development strategy, tidal current energy capture mechanism, low velocity impeller research, adaptive tail rudder compensation mechanism research, direct drive generator control technology research and other key core technologies of the Sino-Italian cooperation project. The numerical research and calculation platform was developed, and the hydrodynamic characteristics of the three blade impeller were simulated and analyzed by CFD software. Besides, the model prototype was developed, and the underwater experiment research was carried out. A series of research achievements has been obtained.

Professor Wenzhou Liu is the Chinese director in charge of the Sino-Italian international cooperation project. The title of his keynote speech was Design and Simulation Analysis of Low-speed Tidal Current Energy Generator. He expounded the design principle of the generator, designed the 1KW generator, and calculated the rated voltage, rated current speed, frequency, and other parameters analyzed by ANSYS Maxwel software as well. A series of research conclusions has been achieved.
