On October 22, 2024, a seminar focusing on "the application of nanoindentation technology in building materials research" was successfully held jointly by the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Hydraulic Engineering. Professor Zhu Wenzhong, a well-known civil engineering expert and doctoral supervisor from the University of the West of Scotland was invited as the keynote speaker , and attracted active participation from numerous scholars, teachers, and graduate students in related fields. The seminar began at 14:00 in the afternoon and the auditorium was packed, with a strong academic atmosphere. Professor Zhu Wenzhong, with his profound academic background and rich practical experience, presented a splendid academic feast for the participants.
In the report, Professor Zhu first introduced the basic principles and development history of nanoindentation technology, and then elaborated on the latest application results of the technology in the study of building materials.
