CIT Associate Professor Zhao Guijie from the School of Civil Engineering published a paper titled "Utilization of High Fine grained Shield Tunnel Spoil in CLSM and Effect of Foam Agent Content on Properties" in the top international journal Construction and Building Materials, with Changchun Institute of Technology as the first unit. Construction and Building Materials is a top tier journal in the first district of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a latest impact factor of 7.4.
Based on the project of Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Department led by Associate Professor Zhao Guijie entitled "Research on solidification treatment technology of shield tunnel residue in Changchun Area", this paper proposes to use shield tunnel residue with high fine particle content as one of the main raw materials to produce controllable low strength material (CLSM) which can be used for high-quality backfill construction. In this paper, the engineering performance of this new material are evaluated, the main influencing factors of each performance are determined, especially the influence law and mechanism of foam content in muck on its performance are clarified, and the microstructure, reaction products and strength formation mechanism of the material are analyzed and explained. The research result can provide a new way for the efficient recycling and utilization of shield dregs, reduce the pressure of shield dregs on the environment and land, and at the same time reduce the dependence of the construction industry on natural resources, achieve the dual purpose of environmental protection and increasing the source of building materials, and promote the development of the construction industry in the direction of green and sustainable development.
