On December 6, 2023, the Engineering Training Center invited Professor Luc Rolland from the University of the West of Scotland to give an academic report entitled "Design of high-performance Parallel Robots". The report was co-sponsored by the Engineering Training Center, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the School of International Education, and chaired by Dr. Li Kun from the Engineering Training Center. Members of the university-level scientific research and innovation team of the Engineering Training Center, young teachers and representatives of teachers and students from relevant colleges attended the report.
In the report, Professor Luc Rolland briefly introduced the development status and application prospects of parallel robots, reported in detail the recent research achievements of his team in the design of high-performance parallel robots, and discussed the key points and difficulties of future research on high-performance parallel robots.
After the presentation, the participating teachers and students had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Professor Luc Rolland. This seminar provides an opportunity for the teachers of the Engineering Training Center to have face-to-face exchanges with international experts, broaden their academic perspectives, enhance the academic atmosphere, and lay the foundation for international scientific and technological cooperation.
Mr. Luc Rolland is a Professor in the Department of Robotics and Automation and Control at the School of Computer, Engineering and Physical Sciences , University of the West of Scotland, UK, and the Director of the Hutchison Mechatronics Laboratory. His main research interests include robotics, drones and autonomous vehicles, and automation and control technology, etc.
