The Engineering Training Center has 30 teaching staff, including 3 Professors, 1 Senior Lecturer, 2 Senior Engineers, 1 Senior Experimenter, 3 Senior Technicians and 3 Doctors.
Organization
The Engineering Training Center now has internal institutions such as Basic Cold Processing Training Department, Basic Hot Processing Training Department, Numerical Control Technology Training Department, Electrical and Electronic Training Department, College Students’ Innovation Practice Center, General Management, Teaching Office, etc. For the engineering training needs to 17 Engineering , Civil Administration and other majors in 8 Schools of CIT, 13 kinds of training modules were set up, which adapts to the need of engineering practice teaching and innovation education base with the characteristics of modern industrial technology comprehensiveness and interdisciplinary majors.
Facilities
At present, the Center covers an area of 20,800 square meters with various experimental training, including 4,800 square meters of modern standard workshops and 16,000 square meters of engineering training center building. In the past decade, laser cutting training equipment, 3D printing training equipment, automobile sheet metal practice equipment, intelligent manufacturing simulation training system have been added. In addition to the complete traditional training equipment for turning, pliers, milling, grinding, casting, welding, electrician, electrical maintenance, there are also CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, fast wire cutting machines, CNC EDM machines, and a series of software such as DALCAM, Pro/E matched with hardware. It also has intelligent manufacturing simulation training system. In 2018, the center was approved by the Education Department of Jilin Province as Jilin Provincial Basic Industry Innovation Training Center.
Research
The Center has undertaken 31 teaching reform and research projects and published 20 research papers on teaching and experimental technology. 7 publicly published textbooks were compiled and 1 excellent course in Jilin Province was completed.
It has undertaken 33 vertical scientific research projects at all levels and of all types, with an amount of 4.19 million yuan, undertaken 43 horizontal projects with a contract amount worth 4.98 million yuan, and published 99 scientific research papers. 36 patents have been obtained.
Service
The Center also undertakes skills training, vocational skills identification and engineering training tasks of peer institutions for the society. In addition, the Center assists the General Trade Union of Jilin Province and Trade Union of Changchun to carry out skill training and technical competition, and provides technical support for selecting high-level skilled talents and effectively ensuring regional water, power and heat supply.
