On November 22, Xu Jian, an outstanding alumnus of CIT and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, returned to his Alma mater CIT to donate books and made an academic report entitled "Cutting-edge Technology and Core Standards for Engineering Vibration Control" for teachers and students. CIT leaders Chen Quan, Liu Zhaoguo, Yang Yongsheng, Xu Jun, Han Wei and former vice president Dou Lijun attended the event, which was held in the third lecture hall of CIT. The book donation ceremony and the report were presided over by Liu Zhaoguo, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the school, and Dou Lijun, former vice president.

Academician Xu Jian donated the books "Guide to the Design of Power Machine Foundation", "Guide to the Testing of Foundation Dynamic Characteristics", "Guide to the Design of Vibration Control for Industrial Buildings", "Example of Construction Vibration Engineering", "Guide to the Design of Engineering Vibration Isolation" and "Optimized Engineering Vibration Isolation, Absorption and Control”, a total of 22 volumes, will be collected in CIT YiFu Library and the School of Civil Engineering as guidance books for engineering practice teaching.
After the donation ceremony, Academician Xu Jian shared a wonderful academic report. He introduced the significance of vibration control from the aspects of the nature of vibration, the harm caused by engineering vibration, the important role of vibration control, and the complexity of vibration control. The advanced technology of engineering vibration control is introduced from eight aspects: technical research background, precision machining and manufacturing, precision optical observation, space environment simulation, new energy engineering, large scientific equipment, multi-source vibration control and technology development trend. He also presented the national standards related to engineering vibration control that he compiled. The report not only provides an analysis of professional technical theories, but also showcases engineering cases. Academician Xu Jian's passionate and straightforward explanations have immersed the attending teachers and students in a strong academic atmosphere, and they have expressed great benefits.
After the meeting, the student representatives presented flowers to Academician Xu Jian, expressing their deep reverence for the outstanding alumnus; The attending teachers and students eagerly took a group photo with Academician Xu Jian to commemorate this unforgettable moment.
Nearly 300 representatives from relevant functional departments and teaching colleges of CIT, alumni representatives, representatives from sister colleges, and industry experts participated in the event.
After the report, college leaders held a symposium with Academician Xu Jian, and President Chen Quan reported the development of CIT in recent years to Academician Xu Jian. He pointed out that Academician Xu Jian has been dedicated to the construction and development of his alma mater for many years since his graduation. During his return to CIT, Academician Xu Jian, accompanied by college leaders, visited the Yifu Library and the School History Museum, and put forward some valuable suggestions on the construction of the school history museum. After the visit, he once again inscribed "The development of the Alma mater, the expectations of alumni" for the future development of CIT.

His research interests include vibration control, structural seismic resistance and new masonry structures. He has won 4 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress, 6 national enterprise Management Innovation Awards, 3 Gold and Silver Awards of National Excellent Engineering Construction Standard Design and 3 first prizes of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design, and 6 first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress. Compiled 34 national standards (11 in chief), 2 national standard designs, published 36 works (20 as the first author), and obtained 31 authorized invention patents as the first inventor.
