From May 9th to 11th, the 2024–2025 VEX Robotics World Championship was held in Dallas, Texas, USA. A total of 110 university teams from 45 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, competed in the tournament. The CSTU team from CIT broke through all the way and advanced to the top four in the world championship, achieving the best result in CIT’s history.
The VEX Robotics World Championship, often hailed as the 'Olympics' of educational robotics, is renowned as the 'World Cup' of the robotics realm. As the world's largest international robotics competition, it attracts millions of teenagers from over 70 countries and regions annually to compete for a coveted spot in the finals, and has been certified by Guinness as the 'Largest Robotics Competition in the World'.
The CSTU team was coached by Yi Yanji, a teacher from the School of Computer Technology and Engineering, and initiated by the captain of the VEX team, Yang Heran, a student from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The team was co-founded with Southern Medical University and Shenzhen Technology University.
The achievement highlights CIT's educational strength and the effectiveness of its innovative talent cultivation.
