Approved by Jilin Provincial Development and Reform Commission and supported by CIT, Jilin Engineering Research Center for Building Energy Supply and Indoor Environmental Control was established in 2008. The center has 33 part-time researchers, including 12 professors. The center has four research laboratories, namely, Air-conditioning Refrigeration Energy Conservation and Indoor Environment Control, Building Energy Supply and Energy Conservation Control Technology, Solar Energy and Heat Pump Application Technology, and Building Equipment Intelligent Control Technology. The center actively explores in Building Energy Supply, Indoor and Outdoor Environment Control, Distributed Energy Application, BIM Technology and other related fields, and carries out innovative research based on basic application research. In the past five years, it has completed 50 major vertical scientific research projects of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, the Development and Reform Commission and other departments, 75 horizontal scientific research projects focusing on solving enterprise technical problems, 10 patent transformation projects, and won more than 10 million yuan of scientific research funds. It has won 13 provincial science and technology achievement awards, 19 local standards for Jilin Province, and more than 50 patents and software copyrights with independent intellectual property rights. It has published more than 100 high-level papers and cultivated more than 40 graduate students, which contributes to local economic construction and industry development.
In recent years, the center has received 3.9 million yuan from the provincial financial fund, and has successively established Enthalpy Difference Laboratory, Multi-source Complementary Energy Supply Laboratory, Solar Seasonal Heat Storage Laboratory, Distributed Energy Laboratory, etc, and cooperated with Midea Air Conditioner, Macwell Air Conditioner, Glee Air Conditioner, New Pipe Industry and other enterprises, and invested 500,000 yuan in the instruments and equipment to jointly build multiple online test benches, fresh air ventilator test benches, system test benches, environmental control integrated machine test benches, and other test benches. Especially in the application of low-temperature heat pump heating, the members of the center have made great progress in their research, and they have exchanged ideas at provincial technical meetings for many times. At the same time, practitioners and competent departments of the heating industry in the province have visited the laboratory for many times, which will play an active role in promoting the application of low-temperature heat pumps in severe cold areas.
Led by the construction of discipline and specialty integration, the center strives to improve the scientific and technological competitiveness of the team, closely integrate with the local economic development, grasp the important strategic issues of the national energy planning, and meet the needs of local social and economic development. Meanwhile, it engages in highlighting the characteristics and advantages, improving the structural construction of the engineering research center as well as essential consciousness of scientific research, and accelerating the pace of scientific research team construction. What’s more, it comprehensively improves the quality and level of scientific research and promotes the coordinated development of scientific research and teaching.
