Jilin Provincial Key Laboratory of Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Jilin Provincial Key Laboratory of Municipal Wastewater Treatment is the only provincial scientific research platform in the province with the basic theory and technology research and development of urban sewage treatment as the core approved by the Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province. At present, the key laboratory has nearly 2000㎡ of scientific research rooms, more than 20 sets of large-scale detection and analysis instruments and equipment in the world, with a total value of more than 20 million yuan, and a pilot base for urban sewage treatment with a daily treatment capacity of 1000m3/d. There are 33 permanent researchers and 13 temporary researchers covering municipal engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, applied chemistry, mathematics, safety engineering and other disciplines; among them, there is 1 candidate in the “New Century Excellent Talents Support Plan” of the Ministry of Education, one provincial professional and technical personnel with outstanding contributions, 8 professors and 12 master’s supervisors; there are 21 professionals with doctor’s degrees.

The laboratory has undertaken 2 sub-projects of national major science and technology projects, 1 national science and technology development program, 8 national natural science foundation projects, 40 provincial or ministerial projects, 43 departmental projects and 13 transversal projects. The laboratory has authorized 15 invention patents and 35 new utility patents. More than 160 papers have been published, including 20 SCI and 36 EI retrieval papers and 39 papers published in the core journals.

The laboratory has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award; 1 second prize and 3 third prizes of provincial scientific and technological progress; there is 1 first prize, 3 second prizes and 4 third prizes of natural science academic achievements in Jilin Province; there are (it has obtained) 15 authorized invention patents, 28 new utility patents, and 1 invention patent transfer achievement. 1 project has been selected as one of the top 100 "typical engineering demonstration projects in the field of water pollution control in special cities and towns, two technologies have been listed in the water pollution prevention and control technology catalogue of Jilin Province, two local standards have been prepared, and one investigation report has been adopted by Jilin Provincial People’s Government.

With Beijing University of Technology, Northeast Normal University, Jilin University, etc., it has jointly trained 10 doctoral candidates, trained (and )98 master candidates. 8 professionals have been promoted to associate professors, and 4 professionals have studied abroad. with Beijing University of Technology, Northeast Normal University and Jilin University, it has trained 10 doctoral students, 98 master's students, 8 associate professors, and 4 overseas students for further study.

The laboratory focuses on carrying out scientific research, engineering application research and social service in the main research directions such as energy-saving theory and technology of urban sewage biological treatment, sewage treatment and resource utilization technology, low-temperature biological treatment theory and technology of urban sewage, industrial wastewater treatment technology, urban sewage treatment safety technology, and urban sewage water quality detection technology.

The laboratory aims to cultivate high-level innovative talents and technical development service personnel, lead scientific innovation in the field of urban sewage treatment technology in our province, and support the development of strategic emerging industries of urban sewage treatment technology in our province.
