Jilin Provincial Engineering Research Center for Disaster Prevention and Control was approved and started its construction by the Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development of Jilin Province in October, 2011. The research center is supported by Changchun Institute of Technology. The director of the research center is Professor Lijun Dou, an expert with outstanding contributions out of young and middle-aged talents in Jilin Province, a famous teacher in Jilin Province and a top-notch innovative talent in Jilin Province. In close connection with the major needs of Jilin Province and the national infrastructure, the research center takes civil engineering disaster prevention and mitigation research as the main line to carry out applied basic theoretical research and innovative and practical technology research and development, effectively promote the interdisciplinary and academic integration of the support unit, provide technical services for the development of the building industry in Jilin Province, and provide technical support for the safety of housing construction. Among them, the plate joint waterproof and opening waterproof technology proposed in the research and application results of the key technologies of housing industrialization in Northern China has won the national invention patent and utility model patent, and solved the problem of plate joint and opening water resistance of the prefabricated wall panel structure. The connector has won the national utility model patent, which solves the technical problem of cracks caused by temperature deformation of prefabricated exterior wall panels. The proposed strength and stiffness calculation method improves the calculation theory of prefabricated external wall cladding. The research results have reached the domestic leading level. Based on the research results, the local standards and local standard atlas of Jilin Province have been compiled, which contributes to the development of local economy in Jilin Province and won the second prize of scientific progress in Jilin Province in 2011.
The research center currently has 30 personnel, including 8 professors, 10 associate professors, 4 lecturers, 2 senior experimenters and 6 experimenters. The professionals with senior titles account for 66.7%. There are 5 doctors, 3 doctors, 21 masters, and the professionals at the master’s degree or above account for 86.7%.
