Graduate School

In September 2016, the Department of Graduate was renamed as the Graduate School, which is Co-located with the Discipline Construction Office. In terms of graduate education, since 2012, the School has been enrolling full-time postgraduate students in the fields of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy Engineering. In 2019, CIT was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to adjust the two enrollment fields of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy Engineering to Civil and Water Conservancy.


At present, the School has 16 postgraduate enrollment majors, including Disaster Prevention and Reduction Engineering and Protection Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering Construction, Road Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Surveying and Mapping, Heating, Gas Supply, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering, Building Electrical and Intelligent Engineering, Engineering Project Management, Building Design and Theory, Municipal Engineering, Hydraulic Structure Engineering, Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, Water and Soil Resources and Environment, Hydraulic Machinery and its Automation, Hydropower System Monitoring and Comprehensive Energy Utilization.


By the end of 2021, 822 full-time postgraduates have been enrolled for 10 sessions; There are 118 tutors for master degree candidates at CIT and 175 enterprise master’s tutors; 37 school-enterprise joint graduate training bases and 3 provincial graduate workstations have been constructed.


The employment rate of graduate students is 97% or above, and more than 50% are employed in large state-owned enterprises. Among the graduate students, many were admitted to Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Beijing Institute of Technology and other key universities to study for doctoral degrees.
