Jilin Province Key Laboratory for Earthquake Resistance & Hazard Mitigation of Civil Engineering was approved by the Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province in December, 2010. In January, 2013, it passed the acceptance of the Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province. The laboratory is supported by Changchun Institute of Technology. The director of the laboratory is Professor Lijun Dou, a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Jilin Province, a famous teacher in Jilin Province, and a top-notch innovative talent in Jilin Province. In close connection with the major needs of Jilin Province and the national capital construction, the laboratory has carried out the study on the application of basic theories and innovative practical technologies with the research on earthquake resistance and disaster reduction of civil engineering as the main line, effectively promoted the interdisciplinary and academic integration of the support unit, provided technical services for the development of construction industry in Jilin Province, and provided technical support for the seismic safety of housing buildings. The laboratory has more than 1700 sets of various experimental equipment, including 140 sets of instruments and equipment with each worth over 10 thousand yuan. The total value of instruments and equipment is more than 21 million yuan. It has the complete equipment and device system for material performance test, structural analysis and structural seismic performance test. It can complete the static performance and seismic performance research of various structures and components.
